How to use this free BaZi chart calculator
The free BaZi chart calculator turns your birth date, approximate birth time and birthplace into the Four Pillars used in Zi Ping BaZi. It is designed to show the chart clearly before any interpretation is attempted. No signup is required to generate the chart.
- Enter your birth date and the closest birth-time range you know.
- Select the birth country and city. These are used for time-zone and true-solar-time correction, not for street-level location.
- Generate the chart and begin with the Day Master, Month Branch, Five Elements and Luck Pillars rather than reading one symbol in isolation.
If the exact birth time is unknown, choose the nearest two-hour period or the “unknown” option. The year, month and day pillars can still be useful, but conclusions that depend on the hour pillar should remain provisional.
What your BaZi result shows
A BaZi chart is a calculation, not an automatic life verdict. The calculator gives the fixed chart data; interpretation requires the relationships among the pillars, seasonal strength and timing cycles.
| Result | What it means | What still needs interpretation |
|---|---|---|
| Four Pillars | Year, month, day and hour, each with one Heavenly Stem and one Earthly Branch. | How the eight characters support, control, combine or clash with one another. |
| Day Master | The Heavenly Stem of the day pillar; the reference point for the Ten Gods. | Whether it is supported, drained or controlled within the full seasonal structure. |
| Five Elements | Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water visible in the chart. | Balance is not judged by counting alone; season, roots and combinations matter. |
| Ten Gods | Ten functional relationships between the Day Master and the other stems and branches. | Career, wealth and relationship meaning changes according to structure and timing. |
| Luck Pillars | Ten-year cycles used with annual pillars to study timing. | A cycle must be read against the natal chart; it is not automatically good or bad. |
Why birthplace and true solar time matter
Country and city help distinguish the recorded clock time from the local solar time used in traditional hour-pillar calculation. Time zones, daylight-saving rules and longitude can move a birth close to a two-hour boundary into a different hour branch. This is why OracleEast asks for country and city, but not a street address, company name or phone number.
For a detailed explanation, read why birth city matters in BaZi. If a recorded time is close to an hour boundary, compare both possible charts before treating the hour pillar as settled.
A reliable order for reading a BaZi chart
Read the chart from structure to detail. Starting with a single “lucky” element or one dramatic Ten God often produces a misleading answer.
- Confirm the inputs. Check the calendar date, time zone, daylight saving and possible true-solar-time adjustment.
- Identify the Day Master and Month Branch. The Day Master represents the reference point; the Month Branch is the main seasonal context.
- Assess roots and element flow. Look at visible stems, hidden stems, support, control and whether combinations are actually strong enough to change the structure.
- Translate the Ten Gods by function. They describe relationships such as resource, output, wealth and authority; none is automatically fortunate or unfortunate.
- Add Luck Pillars and annual timing last. Timing activates an existing structure. It should not replace the natal-chart analysis.

Frequently asked questions
Is this BaZi calculator free?
Yes. You can generate the Four Pillars chart without creating an account. A personalized written interpretation is a separate service.
Do I need my exact birth time?
An exact time is best, especially near a two-hour boundary. If it is unknown, use an approximate range and treat hour-pillar conclusions as uncertain rather than guessing.
Why does the calculator ask for country and city?
They are used to determine time zone, daylight-saving context and true solar time. OracleEast does not need a street address for BaZi calculation.
What is the Day Master?
The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of the day pillar. It is the reference point used to define the Ten Gods, but it must be read within the complete chart.
Can a calculator tell whether my chart is strong or weak?
A calculator can display the ingredients, but a reliable strength judgment also considers season, roots, combinations and the overall flow of the Five Elements. Simple element counts are not enough.
Are Luck Pillars predictions?
Luck Pillars are ten-year timing cycles. They show which parts of the natal structure are more likely to be activated, not a guaranteed list of future events.
When a human-prepared reading is useful
A paid OracleEast report is manually analyzed, written and reviewed by a practitioner. Software may assist chart calculation or administration, but it is not presented as the author of a paid report. See the Personal BaZi Reading / Life Map if you need a structured interpretation of career, wealth, relationships and timing.

What this free BaZi calculator shows
This free BaZi calculator converts a birth moment into the Four Pillars of Destiny: the year, month, day and hour pillars. The result identifies the Day Master and shows the Heavenly Stems, Earthly Branches, hidden stems, Ten Gods, Five-Element distribution and Luck Pillars. It is a calculation tool, not an automatic verdict about wealth, marriage, health or fate.
Birth time, location and true solar time
Enter the birth date, approximate local clock time, birth country and birth city. Country and city are used to determine the historical time zone and local longitude; OracleEast does not ask for a street address, company name or phone number. Historical daylight-saving changes and true-solar-time correction can move a birth across an hour boundary, so boundary births should be manually reviewed.
How to read the result responsibly
The Day Master is the Heavenly Stem of the day pillar. The other stems, branches and hidden stems describe relationships usually expressed through the Ten Gods. A simple count of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water is not enough to decide favorable elements: season, rooting, combinations, clashes and the full structure must be considered together. Luck Pillars describe ten-year timing contexts, but they do not replace a complete practitioner analysis.
Free chart versus a practitioner-written report
The chart is generated automatically from the data you enter. Paid OracleEast reports are manually analyzed, written and reviewed by a practitioner; they are not AI-generated reports. Use the free chart to verify the calculation first, then request human interpretation only if you want the chart placed into the context of career, relationships, timing or a specific life question.
Frequently asked questions
Can I calculate a BaZi chart if my birth time is uncertain?
Yes, but the hour pillar and some timing details remain provisional. Use the nearest reliable time and avoid treating an uncertain hour as confirmed.
Why can two calculators produce different charts?
Differences commonly come from historical time zones, daylight-saving rules, true solar time, solar-term boundaries and Zi-hour day-change conventions. The input and calculation rules should be stated before interpretation.
Are private birth details placed in the page URL?
No. The calculator does not need to publish birth details in an indexable result URL. Parameterized test and private-result pages are marked noindex.
